Blue door, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

This week’s ‘photo of the week’ is from San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. I fell in love with this town when we visited in August 2012.

The whole town is so colourful and beautiful. It feels like it has been the same for centuries. Walls, doors and paint crumble and fall under the glare of the Mexican sun. When I spotted this tiny door surrounded by beautiful green ivy and framed with San Miguel’s trademark yellow and red paint, typical of many of the buildings, I had to stop to take a picture. This type of scene is what makes the town so special.

Very lovely, the doors of San Miguel are truly enchanting. What goes life goes on beyond the doors, a true mystery in a beautiful place.
