Buddhist statues, Kathmandu, Nepal

This weeks ‘photo of the week’ is from Kathmandu, Nepal. These Buddhist statues are all over the city and are a great reminder of the importance of the Buddhist faith in the daily lives of Nepal’s people

I really like the mood of this photo. It feels so calm and spiritual, much like Kathmandu itself. Although this photo was taken in the Swayambhunath Temple in Kathmandu, these statues could have been taken anywhere in the city. But the Monkey Temple was the ideal place, as it is one of the most beautiful and spiritual places in Kathmandu for the local people, as well as visitors.

I have been to Kathmandu but did not visit Swayambhunath Temple, it seems like a waste for us to admire this respectful Buddha status.
